The Shaved Duck Restaurant is a family owned and operated restaurant located in Midlothian, Virginia. Focusing on high quality cuisine and craft cocktails, the nontraditional New American menu utilizes fresh and local produce, meats and seafood. We at The Shaved Duck Restaurant pride ourselves in being a scratch kitchen and providing an edgy menu with variations of classic dishes. Everything is made in house with inspiration coming from various cultures around the world. At the Shaved Duck Restaurant, we strive every day to better our products and consistently “go against the grain” of industry standards in an effort to create a pleasurable dining experience.
Established in 2017, The Shaved Duck Restaurant is the fulfillment of a life-long dream of Owner and General Manager, Joe Kmetz to open a family business. The Shaved Duck Restaurant name was solidified with a little inspiration from swigs of whiskey and acknowledgment to the memory of his grandparent’s love of ducks. Joe’s grandfather was an avid collector of duck memorabilia but what stood out the most was the carved (shaved) ducks. Joe, a 2005 graduate of Midlothian High School, has thrived in the restaurant industry since a young age, with experience in a multitude of roles not only in the kitchen but also providing patrons’ with a top-notch dining experience.
